A Forest-inspired space designed to calm the nervous system. A steam room, float pools, and tailored massages for a unique spa experience. Warm tea and a mindful lunch in the lounge between treatments. A restaurant & café to meet friends before a show.

Triesse will be a multi-sensory space rooted in coziness. A place where you can simply be.

Biophilic design is the integration of natural elements, material and patterns into architecture and interior design. Stemming from the human affinity for nature (known as biophilia), its goal is to improve human health and well-being by reconnecting people with the natural world while indoors.

The story behind the name

Triesse (pronounced tree-ess) is rooted in layered meaning. The prefix ‘tri’ represents three, a nod to the senses that will be awakened in you through our space: touch, taste, and scent. ‘Esse’ reflects the repeating letter in our guiding philosophy: smoothe, soothe & satiate.‍ ‍

We pronounce ‘tri’ as “tree” to honour the forest, both setting and symbol. Forests hold a certain magic. They ground us, steady our breath, and invite us back into ourselves. It’s where we feel alive, at ease, at home.

At Triesse, our intention is to create that same feeling for you.

Food at Triesse is part of the experience, not an interruption from it. Expect comforting and mindful offerings made with fresh locally sourced ingredients, designed to nourish gently and complement the calm, sensory rhythm of the space.

Triesse is meant to be lingered in. Whether you’re sharing lunch between services, waiting for someone you love, or simply taking a quiet moment for yourself, you’ll find cozy seating, warm lighting, calming aromas, and welcoming spaces that feel less like a waiting room and more like somewhere you want to stay awhile.

Meet Melanie and Jon

Melanie and Jon bring a blend of wellness, hospitality, and real-world experience to their vision for Triesse Wellness.

Melanie’s 15-year journey building her skincare business, SkinWishes, is backed by a colourful history of fashion and textiles design and skincare formulation. Many in Stratford may recognize her (and her pink hair) from Illume Wellness Spa, where she currently works Front of House. She’s deeply inspired by calm, cozy spaces, sensorial comforts, and the belief that luxury should feel warm, welcoming, and genuinely human.

Jon brings a steady, grounded approach shaped by a 25-year career in the Canadian Armed Forces, where leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving became second nature. Following his passion for culinary arts, he recently graduated with honours from Stratford Chefs School and completed his Red Seal certification, combining classical culinary training with a guest-centered approach to food and service.

Together, they’re creating Triesse, a multi-sensory sanctuary where people can slow down, feel cared for, and reconnect with themselves and each other. A place rooted in warmth, hospitality, and simple moments of comfort.
